We are back to the old Company Town days, where a single bureaucratic entity could control every aspect of a persons life.
Imagine Amazon has replaced the grocery stores in your town, the clothing shops in your town, the post office in your town, the phone company in your town, the book store in your town, the hardware store, the pawn shop, the library, restaurants, etc . Just imagine a town where Amazon controls a huge majority of everything.
Now imagine there is a rule that you cant speak against Amazon. What happens to society when Amazon has taken over so much that nobody is able to offer up a critique of the company?
A society without self criticism is doomed .
