I (and many many others) have an achievement [slashdot.org] called "The Maker"... what does that mean? It's not listed in the FAQ.
Also, how are you computing the total number of Achievements? If you add up my achievements (and if I add the powers of two I get closer) but it doesn't come out to be the number you posted.
Also, if I have CmdrTaco's attention, why not leave this up? You've written the code for it and although it will certainly tax your database (default awards were handed out on different days)
Clearly I will have to outsource my slashdotting to India, just as I outsourced my MMORPG moneymaking and my catalog ordering and tech support calling.
Considering slashdotting and MMORPG are things we do for fun... isn't it kinda dumb for us to outsource having fun? Isn't that the point of having a job? You know... to pay for having fun?
How amazingly filthy stinking rich are we (Americans and Europeans) that we outsource our fun-having because it's not quite the optimal fun-having we want?
I think I understand... so, where can I sign up to have other people post for me? My usual gold farming crew doesn't seem to understand when I ask them to work on this.
In the spirit of the World of Warcraft achievement addition, "karma whoring" has been renamed to the less-impugning "karma farming" or "grinding karma."

Which is why they removed the numerical value for karma, I'm guessing...
